Also having a versatile design, the 2019 Toyota Tacoma is a pickup truck that's available in six editions. Both models have similar capabilities, but the Ridgeline has better off-road handling. This Honda model also boasts better technology in the cabin.
Capabilities
The 2019 Honda Ridgeline runs on a V6 engine block with a 3471 cc displacement. Having the i-VTEC SOHC valvetrain, this naturally aspirated engine produces up to 280 horsepower. This standard powertrain cranks out a maximum of 262 pound-feet of peak torque. Installed in some of the 2019 Toyota Tacoma models, the entry-level 2.7 L DOHC engine generates only 159 hp and 180 lb-ft. The valvetrain in this I-4 engine has the VVT-i technology. Using the Atkinson Cycle, the vehicle's six-cylinder engine yields up to 278 hp and 265 lb-ft. Featuring two fans, the Ridgeline's high-capacity radiator keeps the mechanical components under the hood at normal temperatures. This Honda pickup truck also has several innovative systems that reduce noise and improve efficiency in the powertrain. For example, the Active Noise Cancellation controls the acoustics that are associated with combustion. Engineered for optimum efficiency, the Variable Cylinder Management responds to real-time demand for horsepower and torque.
Handling
The all-wheel drive system in the 2019 Ridgeline has the Intelligent Variable Torque Management technology. Monitoring multiple mechanical parameters, the i-VTM controls the delivery of torque to the front and rear wheels. In extreme conditions, the Intelligent Traction Management quickly adjusts the rotation of the axles accordingly. There are custom modes that are tuned specifically for navigating snow, sand and mud. You can also switch to the 2WD Mode depending on the road's surface and weather. This Honda pickup truck comes standard with a classic automatic transmission system that has six speeds in the gearbox. A heavy-duty transmission cooler prevents heat-related stress in the gear components. Some of the 2019 Toyota Tacoma models roll on the 4WDemand system that provides part-time engagement of the front and rear axles. A transfer case and electronic limited-slip differential are paired with the signature 4WD. However, the Tacoma's Active Traction Control technology doesn't perform as well as the i-VTM.
Features
An 8.0-inch WVGA touch screen is installed in three of the 2019 Honda Ridgeline trims. Also having a high-resolution design, the 2019 Toyota Tacoma's touch screen is available in a maximum size of 7.0 inches. GPS navigation with HD Digital Traffic is included in the Ridgeline's 8.0-inch infotainment system. You also have access to numerous audio services, such as Pandora, SiriusXM and HD Radio. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and HondaLink are accessible in this Honda pickup truck. Although it doesn't have Apple CarPlay, the Tacoma supports Siri Eyes Free. This Toyota has a six-speaker audio system with the JBL label. Featuring eight speakers, including a subwoofer, the Ridgeline's best sound system blasts up to 540 watts. Additionally, this pickup truck has an audio system in the truck bed.
