The type of car that you drive determines how much you enjoy spending time on the road each day. Those who are looking for an SUV for everyday use can take advantage of the 2019 Honda CR-V or the 2019 Toyota C-HR, which are smaller in size and make it easy to get around. Here are the main features between both options to review before making your purchase.

Performance

Built with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, the 2019 Honda CR-V gets 184 horsepower for quick acceleration when commuting or driving around town. One of the main perks of the car's performance is how economical it is with 26 mpg in the city and 32 mpg* on the highway. A turbocharged four-cylinder engine is also available and is even more fuel-efficient with an extra two mpg on the highway.

The 2019 Toyota C-HR is best described as underpowered with its four-cylinder engine that produces 144 horsepower, which makes it slower than the Honda CR-V. The vehicle isn't sporty but has responsive steering and handling that feels composed. The engine is also incredibly loud when driving at high speeds, which can be heard in the cabin.

Interior Comfort

The cabin in the 2019 Honda CR-V offers a high level of comfort with four speakers, leather-trimmed upholstery, and an optional leather-wrapped steering wheel. Upgrades include a 12-way power-adjustable driver's seat and a four-way power-adjustable driver's seat. The spaciousness of the cabin and the amount of outward visibility that's provided creates a pleasant setting.

Driving in the 2019 Toyota C-HR is enjoyable due to the attractive interior setting that features a modern design. Unfortunately, a few glossy black materials are present, which looks cheap. The front row in the vehicle is comfortable and supportive, but the backseat has room for improvement due to the limited amount of space that is available. The car is also less smooth than the CR-V and has a low-quality suspension system.

Tech Features

Interior features that are included in the new CR-V are a USB port, a 5-inch audio display screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch display, HD Radio, and a rearview camera. Additional upgrades include a moonroof, three USB ports, and six speakers.

Inside the latest generation of the Toyota C-HR is Bluetooth, dual-zone automatic climate control, Apple CarPlay, a USB port, and an 8-inch touch screen. Android Auto is not included. The infotainment system is user-friendly with sharp graphics but has too many submenus that are present, which can make it take longer than necessary to adjust the settings and controls. Limited cargo space is also an issue with only 19 cubic feet of cargo space available behind the rear seat.
