The 2019 Honda Fit is a subcompact car that's designed for urban driving. The 2019 Honda HR-V is a compact crossover SUV that thrives in cities, suburbs and other areas. Both vehicles offer a 7.0-inch infotainment system with navigation and several smartphone-friendly portals. The Honda Sensing package adds numerous driving aides to the Fit and HR-V.
Performance
The 2019 Fit runs on a 1.5 L engine block that produces 130 horsepower. Generating just more than 140 hp, a 1.8 L engine propels the 2019 HR-V. Each model has the i-VTEC technology in the valvetrain for efficient combustion. Direct fuel injection and SOHC are standard under the hood of the Fit. The HR-V has multi-port fuel injection and DOHC. Both Honda vehicles save fuel by running on the Eco Assist System. You could push the ECON button to activate this system in the Fit, which also has the Eco Coaching. This subcompact vehicle has a six-speed manual transmission with a clutch. Paired with the Sport Mode, a continuously variable transmission is available in the Fit and HR-V. Dual-mode paddle shifters optimize the mechanics of the CVT. Additionally, the Intelligent Control System is included in the HR-V's Real Time AWD that's engineered for off-road handling.
Safety
Some of the 2019 Fit and HR-V models come standard with the latest version of the Honda Sensing technology. The Forward Collision Warning might be triggered by a sudden reduction in speed of another vehicle in front of you. Depending on the risk level of an impact, the Collision Mitigation Braking will help you slow down or come to a full stop. Both cars also have the Road Departure Mitigation that reacts to unintentional drifting and swaying. The Lane Keeping Assist could override the steering direction if there's an elevated threat of a side collision. Not part of the Honda Sensing package, the LaneWatch gives you an extra level of confidence on the highway. The front side airbags in the Fit and HR-V operate on the SmartVent mechanism. Both cars have rollover sensors that activate the side curtain airbags in the front and rear rows.
Tech Features
An infotainment system with a 7.0-inch electrostatic touch screen is available in the 2019 Fit and HR-V. You can set the display resolution to a maximum of 800 by 480 pixels. Connecting a smartphone with the multimedia software is simple when you have Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. You could also connect a mobile device with the HondaLink application. Both Honda vehicles are wired for SiriusXM Satellite Radio reception. You may stream music on Pandora Internet Radio in the Fit, which has six speakers with a 180-watt rating. The HR-V also has this audio system that's connected to HD Radio. Additionally, both models offer a satellite-linked navigation platform with live traffic data from Honda HD Radio.
