Offering the i-VTEC engine and a turbocharged engine, the 2018 Honda Civic is a small sedan that's both sporty and stylish. Performance
Powering the 2018 Honda Civic LX and EX trims, the i-VTEC 2.0 L I-4 engine produces 158 hp and 138 lb-ft of torque. Standard in the EX-T and above models, a 1.5 L engine whips out 174 hp and just over 160 lb-ft of peak torque. This single-scroll turbocharged engine has its own wastegate that improves performance. The fuel-conserving Eco Assist System is integrated into both of these compact engines. Available only in the LX and EX-T editions, a six-speed manual transmission system provides classic-style shifting in gears. The Continuously Variable Transmission (M-CVT) is optional in the base and EX trims. Having automatic-style mechanisms, the (LL-CVT) is standard in the EX-T and above versions. A multi-link rear suspension system and MacPherson front struts support the sporty Civic.
Interior
An eight-way driver's seat with a power adjustment is installed in the 2018 Civic EX-L and Touring. Genuine leather upholstery covers all five seats in these premium models. In the EX-T and above models, a dual-zone climate control system controls the temperature settings automatically. Perhaps the most precious high-tech amenity in the Civic is a 7.0-inch touch screen. In the EX-L and above, the Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System offers excellent guidance. Both trims are also connected to Honda HD Digital Traffic. Google Maps could be smoothly synced with the multimedia system through Android Auto. Apple CarPlay and wireless Bluetooth are other smartphone-optimized amenities in the Civic. There's also plenty of great music to enjoy on HD Radio, SiriusXM Satellite Radio and Pandora Internet Radio. Rated at 450 acoustic watts, a sound system with 10 speakers is installed in the Touring.
Safety
Every 2018 Civic offers the Forward Collision Warning that analyzes the risks of accidents. Imminent collision threats are neutralized by the Collision Mitigation Braking System. With some input by the Road Departure Mitigation System, you'll stay on the right track on the highway. The Lane Departure Warning also provides valuable insight on potential accidents. If you want to sit back and relax for an extended drive, just turn on the Adaptive Cruise Control that's synchronized with the Low-Speed Follow technology.
