The 2026 Honda Passport is quickly making waves among midsize SUV fans for its powerful and rugged capabilities. When you’re journeying to various areas, the Passport is well suited with standard Normal, Econ, Sport, Snow, Tow, Trail, and Sand drive modes that are each designed for a different type of terrain. Compare that to the Kia Sorento, which only has standard Comfort, Eco, Sport, and Smart modes, and it's plain to see which is designed for rugged travel. When you need to bring some extra supplies to the camping trip at Burke Lake Park, you’ll be able to easily carry more with the Passport’s 5,000-lb. towing capacity1. The Sorento can still manage to bring a fair amount with its 4,500-lb. towing capacity2 that still falls short.
Interior
Within both of these models are a variety of amenities that will add to the comfort and convenience of the drive, but the 2026 Honda Passport manages to eke out over the competition. Should you need to warm up, the Passport has standard heated seats and available ventilated capabilities for the summer. When it comes to the Sorento, you’ll have to choose a higher trim level to access its available heated and ventilated front chairs. For the passengers inside of the car, the Honda is able to provide comfort to more people with its standard tri-zone climate control that lets you create up to three different areas of temperature while the other car has an available dual zone climate control. When you’re driving down I-495, you won’t have to worry about getting blinded by the glare of the car behind you in either model, thanks to the automatic-dimming rearview mirror. However, the 2026 Passport has this feature standard on all trims, while it’s an available feature on the Kia.
Exterior
When it comes to balancing style and convenience, both of these models have plenty to offer, but only the 2026 Honda Passport has a standard heated wiper zone windshield. This will allow you to more easily clean off the front glass during the winter as it quickly melts any frost or snow that has accumulated. With roof rails, you can have added versatility when it comes to storing cargo, and this comes standard on the Passport, while it is an available feature for the Sorento. You shouldn’t have any issues when it comes to opening the rear storage with the standard powered tailgate on the Passport which is an available feature on the Sorento.
