2024 Honda Prologue vs. Toyota bZ4X Fredericksburg, VA
Two Stylish EV Models Face To Face
Honda and Toyota are two of the top automakers known for exceptional reliability. They enter the EV market with stylish offerings in the 2024 Honda Prologue and the Toyota bZ4X.
Drivers in Fredericksburg, VA will want to get to know the 2024 Honda Prologue vs. the Toyota bZ4X. If you're looking for an EV, both of these cars should be on your shortlist. There are many similarities between the two, including seating capacity for five people, base FWD, and safety features like automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and a blind spot system.
Both also come with a three-year or 36,000-mile warranty. However, there are also some significant differences. Pohanka Honda of Fredericksburg takes a look.
Sleek and Spacious: 2024 Honda Prologue
If you're looking for a midsize crossover EV, the 2024 Honda Prologue is worth a good look. It's spacious on the inside, despite its sleek profile and low roofline. It uses an 11.3-inch touchscreen with an intuitive infotainment system and integrates wireless Apple and Android phones. The second row of seats features plenty of legroom and a large underfloor cargo storage area in the trunk. The Prologue is slightly larger than the Passport and can seat up to five people.
The Honda Prologue EV is estimated to get between 273 and 296 miles of range*. It handles admirably with a light feel. In the current market, there aren't many EV models that still qualify for the full $7,500 federal tax credit*, but the Honda Prologue is one of them. It starts at $47,400* for the base EX model. The Touring and Elite top trims start at $51,700* and $57,900*, respectively. The Prologue Elite trim comes with AWD, the other two trims offer standard FWD.
Toyota's Only EV: 2024 Toyota bZ4X
Toyota has been relatively slow to get into the EV market but has finally done so with the bZ4X compact crossover. It's nicely appointed with decent off-road ability, thanks to the X-Mode system. Like the Prologue, it's more spacious inside than it looks with plenty of room for cargo and people. However, compared to the Prologue, the rear legroom is rather cramped. The bZ4X includes a long list of standard safety features and a five-star crash rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The Toyota bZ4X comes in two trim levels in the XLE and Limited. FWD is standard on both trims, but AWD is available. Unfortunately, the bZ4X no longer qualifies for the federal tax credit, despite its slightly lower price than the Prologue. AWD versions are rated for up to 228 miles of range* and the FWD XLE gets up to 252 miles of range*. The heavier top Limited trim manages 236 miles of range* in the FWD layout.
